We want to provide quality therapy without being influenced by the parameters many insurance companies place on therapists. For that reason we are considered an “Out-of-Network” practice. This means therapy will be an out of pocket investment. However, we can provide documentation (called a Superbill) that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement depending on your particular insurance plan.
Our rates will be provided to you during the scheduling process, depending on the therapist you see. Sliding scale and discounted rates are negotiable and on a case-by-case basis.

Under the Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers are required to provide a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges to those who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage at the time of scheduling health care.
If you are uninsured or are enrolled but not seeking to file a claim with your plan or coverage (self-pay) you have a right to a “Good Faith Estimate” to help you estimate the expected charges you may be billed for as a result of receiving health care services with us.
During the scheduling process we will review your expected costs.
Furthermore the Government wants you to be aware:You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or treatment.
You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059. -
We understand that the different degrees, titles, and names for therapists can be confusing. Here's a small breakdown of how we all vary.
Psychiatrists (MD/DO): These are providers who can prescribe medications and also (if trained) can practice therapy. Their training involves going to medical school and these providers are considered Doctors.
Psychologists (PhD/PsyD): These providers can do psychological assessments or evaluations, can diagnose mental illness/emotional conditions, and practice therapy. They have completed a doctoral training program that typically is 5 years. These providers are considered Doctors (but not the medical kind).
Licensed Social Workers (LCSW, LICSW, LCSW-C): These providers can diagnose mental illness/emotional conditions, and practice therapy. They have completed a master's program in social work. For those providers who are doing clinical work, they have undergone several years of supervised hours after graduation and taken extensive exams to be independently licensed in the states where they practice.
Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC, LCPC, LPCC, LMHC): These providers can diagnose mental illness/emotional conditions, and practice therapy. They have completed a master's program in counseling. These providers are independently licensed in the states where they practice after graduation. They have undergone several years of supervised hours in the field and taken an extensive exam to be licensed.
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT): These providers can practice therapy with couples and families. They have completed a master's program specifically in understanding the dynamics of families, marriages, and couples in interpersonal relationships. These providers are independently licensed in the states where they practice after graduation. They have undergone several years of supervised hours in the field and taken an extensive exam to be licensed.
Deciding on which type of provider to see might come down to factors such as specialization, personality, how that provider has made you feel, goals of treatment, modality and geographical location. There is no "right" answer for who would be "best" for your specific needs, so it's important be open minded and try out therapists that you are curious about or have access to.

Getting started with therapy might seem intimidating, but at RTCCounseling we try to make it easy. Just press the "Request Appointment" button at the top of this page, fill out the form, and we will follow up with you to assign a therapist.
Also feel free to email the therapist of your choosing (emails for each therapist will be in their bios).

No matter what insurance or other organizations might have you believe, the therapy process is not time-limited. Change takes time and it's hard to predict how this process will go for each person. If you have concerns about the length of treatment, please discuss this with your therapist. If you have limitations on how long you can pursue therapy, please let us know. We will make every effort to be transparent about recommended frequency, cost, and time restraints.
